Today I'm sharing a style board I've created based around a photographic art print I've made called
Ruffage. It's one of my entries in Minted + West Elm's newest collaborative art challenge. Last spring I was blessed to have my art print,
Field Sketch, picked to be a part of West Elm's fall and spring collection. Well, I'm trying again! If the competition wasn't steep enough the first time (over 1,400 entries were submitted), it's surely even steeper this time around with nearly 2,000 submissions! I would hate to have to make this decision! I will be posting more of my entries, but here is one of my favorites. This is a black and white photograph that I took of lettuce (or some kind of leafy green), and I exposed the film with a second negative sandwiched on top. This is darkroom work, baby! Together the print became this ethereal/sunray-filled/smoky/cloud-like image, and I find myself strangely drawn to it. I think I like that on first glance, it might not be obvious what this photograph is.
In this style board I've paired other earthy and ethereal West Elm products with my image. I think Ruffage would look great in a living room or even a dining room or kitchen. So many textures look great with it too like the slate, wood and kraft paper seen below. Wish me luck! Voting is open until Monday, February 10. Vote for Ruffage right
here!
